Six Feet! Six Feet!

The days are just packed!  Don’t you feel that way?  Lots to do and plenty of time to do…whatever?

The days have been counted by how many walks I have taken and in addition today, how many steps.  I use my cell phone app to measure distance, steps, and actually follow my walking path.  Isn’t that amazing?

You can tell by the preceding words just how needy and perhaps bored I am!

Mornings start with coffee, Bible reading – not boring!  Following that is breakfast, sitting a few minutes then a long walk.

As a recovering heart patient, the walk is mandatory.  Walking settles me, gives a new perspective, and allows me to see nature and people.

Most folks answer my greeting, and some will even stop and talk from a distance.  One lady walking her 2 little dogs moved over and kept repeating, “Six feet!  Six feet!”  So…I moved on and gave her the desired space
.
This incident brings me to the point….we are frightened to talk or interact with one another due to the possibility of catching a nasty virus.  Understandably, we need to be careful, but what are we doing to ourselves when we isolate our spirits from another person?  Granted we need to maintain distance, but can we not just talk while walking?

I find that I am lonesome for company as is Grandma. We enjoy each other’s company and always have; however, we feel the need to interact with other humans.

Don’t worry, we will not move into your “six feet of space.”

We will also not invite you over for a visit.
We will respect your space and desire to stay well.
After all, this is only temporary, right?

Here’s to a party in the future.  Let’s get together, shake hands, hug, and enjoy each other’s company when this spell of Corona Virus is stable and under control.

We look forward to our visit with You!
