Trust in Action

As I sat by the pool watching a young Father and his young daughter play in the water, I was able to view complete trust at work.  The wise Father had wrapped his daughter in a body-suit life preserver which allowed the young swimmer to move about the pool freely.  Dad showed the little girl how to kick with her feet and pull with her arms which she began doing with gusto.  She was able to "swim" all about the pool, which was quite large.  Dad watched his daughter carefully as she moved away from him.
The trust began to come into play as she realized that she was quite far from Dad and began to call for him.  Very quickly, Dad was by his daughter's side holding her with his strong arms.  As the daughter calmed, she regained the desire to strike out again to another far point in the pool.  Again upon realizing how far she was from Dad, she would call and Dad would instantly be by her side.
Dad never taunted or belittled daughter, rather he encouraged her to try even more as he moved to stay by her side.  Little known to the daughter was the fact that she was held up in the water by a force stronger than her little arms or legs....she had a life preserver approved by her loving Daddy.
The picture was immediately clear to me....I am the little child who is constantly watched over and preserved by my loving Father (Abba).  I am never out of His site even though he encourages me to step out to new areas of services.  He is closer than I can imagine and no one can separate me from my Abba's love.  When I feel like I am going under, I just need to remember that Abba is preserving my life in His powerful hands.
