The Trip

I can't stay in bed and hide forever.  There's no food in here and I'm hungry.  I need a shower, but this room will not help in my cleanup....it's filthy.
Caleb left the hotel room, stumbling out the door.  The sun hit him full force in the face causing him to close his eyes as hands covered his eyes...not his own hands.  Two large men quickly tied Caleb hand and foot and threw him into the large trunk of an old model Cadillac.  The car traveled for more than an hour but Caleb quickly lost track of time.  The fumes from the faulty muffler quickly overwhelmed his senses and he lost consciousness.
I hear wind blowing somewhere, so loud.  It's whistling and....I'm looking for something....I can't find it...I can't see anything....can only hear the wind....
Caleb lay in the trunk of the old Caddy with the trunk open...his mind a blur, but fortunate to be alive.  His abduction was done with precision and the fact that he was alive was beyond miraculous.  The two large men, local thugs did the job for which they were paid by hauling Caleb from the motel and out of the city.  The thugs knew the spot where they must leave the Caddy, trunk open and and Caleb alive...hopefully.  They were long gone, payment in hand.
Light...I can see a little light.  That wind, I wish it would die down.
As Caleb slowly regained consciousness, the wind, only his hearing slowly returning...the wind did die down and finally his eyes began to work and he saw the inside of a trunk....the second time he had awakened to unknown surroundings today.  He raised himself and saw the woods beyond the Caddy's trunk...a forest with only animal sounds assaulting his ears.  Climbing out of the Caddy was painful but with care, he touched the ground with his old boots.  The only path was the one by which the Caddy had driven in and this was the end of the road.
I cannot imagine where I am or why I am here.  What do I do now?  Where can I go?  Gotta walk....follow the road....move feet.  I must have answers....where do I start.
A thought...."why do we fall....so we can pick ourselves up."  Where did that come from?  My mind just won't work.....I need answers.
